Having Picture Archives for Fresh Choreography Ideas
This coming Saturday I'm teaching my "Deepen Your Back Bends Workshop" at www.bamboomovesyoga.com in Englewood and I'm feeling to add in some fresh new choreography. These late winter cold and slushy days are heightening my craving for new beginnings. Since there's no time in my schedule to hop around town and take other's classes for inspiration I decided to go way back into my yoga pose picture files.
I started blogging in early 2011 and from that point onward I have been scheduling almost weekly photo sessions with my husband Amit. I'm so lucky and appreciative that he has a great eye and the desire to help me. These pictures were taken during a hot August afternoon in 2011. At this point we were figuring out the best angles to photograpgh yoga poses in nature. Looking back at these pics the lighting could have been better. Regardless, I'm delighted with how we've advanced with our pics. Now we can take great shots in less than 15 minutes.
If you lead yoga, dance or fitness lessons I highly recommend documenting your craft. Especially now that we live in a nearly everyone is a photographer society where most of us have cameras in our phones. Whether you share your pictures online or keep them to yourself, photo notes inspire your work and keep your talent circulating.
I've been playing with this interlaced hands sequence for the past few days and already some new yoga shapes and transitions have emerged in my choreography. I'll photograph them this weekend and share them with you soon.
