Want What You Have
The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, New York City during Christmas Eve. |
During this Christmas holiday season I haven't been feeling as prepared or I hate to admit as perfect in my eyes as I was in the past as a hostess, gift giver, Xmas decor styler, baker and more. With less tinsel, lights and gifts to be wrapped this year, I'm actively working on embracing the sweet sentiment of seeing what I already have... my health, family, friends, endless walks along the river plus an abundance of opportunities to share what I love in the New Year, my practice. This is my life and these are my gifts.
If any of this resonates with you, take the time to sit and be still during this end of the year holiday week and notice what you have enough of. Sure there's pieces to life's puzzle that you could sure see yourself having right now but ask yourself "Is it absolutely necessary?" When you are done reflecting, take 3 deep breaths and give thanks for what you have before you move on.
